Geneisha T. Carpenter (born Geneisha Tymia Ryland) is a native of St.Louis, MO and began writing (journaling) at age 11. At age 14, Geneisha knew that she wanted to become a successful writer/journalist as her career choice. At age 20, Geneisha moved to Chicago, IL to pursue and continue her education in journalism at Columbia College Chicago. Despite financial hardships, Geneisha earned her bachelor's degree in journalism in May 2009-one of her proudest moments. As a writer/journalist, Geneisha intends to inform, educate, and inspire readers. Geneisha is a freelance contributor for Examiner.com Chicago edition and covers African American Issue. She currently resides in Palos Hills, IL and is happily married to Stephen D. Carpenter.
